Border Caring Services

Direct Payments

As a charity, we have given a lot of thought to our aims, beliefs and values. Our clients – current, former and future – are at the centre of everything that we do. Consequently, we are constantly looking at how we can develop and continue to deliver the best services in the Borders.Payments

We are committed to provide care and support which suits each individual and to develop our services for the benefit of those who need help. Direct Payments are an important part of the story of how someone chooses to have their care delivered and by whom.

A Direct Payment is given to someone who has made a personal choice to use the money awarded to them for their care, to buy their own services. What they will buy, will be those services in the Support Plan agreed between themselves and the Local Authority (Council) or the Local Health Services.

Direct Payments give people the chance to run their own lives in a way that suits them with assistance from those around them.
